
Technopolis has started to measure the well-being status of their personnel using Widisys' Employee Poll service. The continuous survey is called "Personnel Feeling Scale", and it consults every single employee on their happiness with the work.
The team leaders and functional responsibles within Technopolis matrix organization need to be aware of their team members' work well-being. The web-based satisfaction polls have proven incapable of providing up-to-date information, often even questioning the applicability of the derived results, due to low response rates and delayed report availability. The operational environment changes dynamically, leaving the interpretation of the data gathered months before rather challenging. Reasons Ms Hanna-Leena Pietilä, HR Manager of Technopolis: ”We are very interested in finding out any atmosphere changes quickly, and to react to those changes promptly. Employee Poll service digs that knowledge up for us in an anonymous way”.
As an active contributor to its employees' satisfaction Technopolis sees the benefits of the sms-based Widi service significant. Due to a simple way of responding to the sms queries with a single letter, the response rates have been in the range of 80%. There are also some web poll respondents within the Scale, but not too many to affect the response rates too much. And due to careful pre-launch information, no practical difficulties arose from the first round of the Scale. Also, the quick cycle of a single survey is appreciated by HR assistant, Ms Taina Ryhtä: "We launch the query the last Wednesday of the month - and have the results available for the next week's management and team meetings. Any reason for an exceptional climate change can start to be fixed immediately”.
Widisys provides the Employee Poll service to Technopolis as a fully outsourced service. Activation and reporting of the queries takes therefore place automatically and confidentially, with single responses staying anonymous. The customer is provided only with the information they need - on how the atmosphere within the teams has developed.
