Excellence Finland promotes sustainable excellence and competitiveness in Finland. The association announced yesterday the results of its 3rd annual Quality Innovation of the Year contest. Widi services were brought to this year's competition by Widisys Employee Poll service customer, Fujitsu Services Ltd. Competing in the series of large enterprises, Fujitsu's Mobile Employee Opinion Survey concept gathered appraising comments from the jury.
The title of the competing innovation was "Real-time information on the team's well-being for its superior, using SMS based barometer", which, according to the jury, was shown well in the strength of the concept: its customer-oriented approach. The jury felt the pain of superiors currently otherwise completely lacking this type of aid for their coaching work: "Your application shows innovative approach to break up the traditional, slow employee feedback process and replace it with a faster, lighter, and better way to improve both the management and the operations of a company."
The straight-forward applicability of the concept was recognized as the second strong point. Once seen the benefits, organizations usually want to spread the usage fast, and that is what the service fully supports. Confirms Ms Sanna Leppänen, HR Director of Fujitsu Services: "We have applied this method already in various ways within Fujitsu, and, convinced by the results, we wanted to make this approach also known to other companies through participation in this contest."
Also applying existing technology in an innovative way got positively acknowledged by the jury. Sighs Mr Kimmo Matero, Product Marketing Director of Widisys: "I am glad the jury noticed the new operative and business model our co-operation with Fujitsu created for this specific purpose. It tells also us as s service provider that we are on the right way - the future is all about services and making these services a business".
